Off-highway vehicles
In Nova Scotia, the Minister of Environment has the discretion to issue recreational permits for the use of off-highway vehicles in protected wilderness areas. This legislative loophole threatens the ecological integrity of our protected areas system.
CPAWS-NS calls on the provincial government to immediately remove the legislative loophole in the Off-Highway Vehicles Act that allows the Minister to sanction recreational OHV-use in protected wilderness areas.
