The Nova Scotia Chapter of the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society is accepting applications for a conservation assistant position for eligible students over the summer months.
Title: Conservation Assistant
Description: The conservation assistant will provide research and outreach support for CPAWS-NS' conservation campaigns. The conservation assistant will be responsible in assisting with advancing protected areas in Nova Scotia, particularly on the Bay of Fundy, through several ongoing and new projects. Specific duties may include: participating in fieldwork, analyzing and reporting results, assist in developing a long-term strategy for CPAWS-NS' campaigns and developing outreach and communications materials, maintaining an updated website on marine related campaigns.
Requirements: Current university student (Bachelor's or Master's Program); interest in environmental and conservation issues; previous experience working with a non-governmental organization an asset.
Dates: 14 weeks full-time employment, beginning May 2011
Wage: $10.50/hour
