What we do
CPAWS-NS works to protect the ecological integrity of the natural environment in Nova Scotia, on land and in the ocean. We use conservation science to identify the best places for the creation of new protected areas to conserve biodiversity. We also work to protect the ecological integrity of existing protected areas and for the protection of species at risk in the province.
We focus on protecting Nova Scotia’s…
- Conserve and increase the amount of protected areas and wildlife corridors in Nova Scotia
- Conserve and improve the health and biodiversity of the oceans and coastlines in our region and beyond
- Protect and ensure the ecological integrity of our protected areas
- Inform and Engage Nova Scotia youth towards environmental and conservation awareness
- Protect and enhance the recovery of species at risk in Nova Scotia
